ELLIE LOGIC · PRIVACY & CHOICES

Privacy policy

For the Ellie Logic app, public website and voluntary support. Effective & last updated: November 6, 2026.

Practice and notes are stored on your device and are not automatically uploaded to the developer. Backups, exports, external links and voluntary support are explained below.

1. What the app stores and why

Ellie Logic stores practice progress on your device: questions visited, answers and attempts, hints used, completion history and dates, adaptive difficulty information, the unfinished session, Mistake Notebook records, and preferences such as challenge and sound. These records run practice, resume sessions, choose suitable puzzles, and show learning observations.

Question feedback is stored separately on your device. It can include question identifiers and content snapshots, selected issue tags, free-text notes, review status, and creation and update dates. Notes are intended for grown-ups and do not need a child’s name or other personal details. Entering or saving feedback does not automatically send it to the developer.

2. Accounts, advertising and device access

The current app has no account registration, advertising, third-party analytics SDKs, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated online learning service. We do not receive, sell or rent your on-device learning records through the app. The app does not ask for a child’s real name, email address, date of birth, or location.

The app does not request microphone, camera, contacts, photo-library or location access. Optional read-aloud uses Apple’s system speech playback; it does not record your voice. Apple may independently process downloads, diagnostics or backups under your device settings and Apple’s privacy policy.

3. Parent controls, exports and external links

Settings and saved-feedback management and export sit behind a hold-and-answer parent gate. The folded feedback editor below each question does not itself require that gate. The gate helps separate adult actions from child practice; it is not account authentication or encryption of all device data.

A grown-up can export all saved question feedback as a JSON file using the system file destination picker. It includes notes, tags, statuses, dates and question information, including saved records outside the current filter. The app does not automatically send that export to the developer. If you choose iCloud Drive or another file provider, your file may be uploaded or synchronized by that provider. Sharing a file later sends its contents to the recipients you choose. Review the file and remove private information before sharing.

The grown-up area contains an optional link to an independent publisher’s reasoning-format information. Opening external links uses the destination service, which may receive ordinary connection information and handles data under its own policy.

4. Retention, reset and deletion

Learning progress is kept locally until reset or removed, subject to storage limits. The app keeps up to 1,000 recent answer events and 100 recent completed sessions, plus other progress summaries, notebook records and settings. Feedback is kept separately until its contents are cleared or the app’s data is removed; the app does not apply a fixed expiry to feedback notes.

In the grown-up space, “Reset all learning progress” removes the current session, learning history, Mistake Notebook and preferences. It keeps question feedback. To remove a particular feedback entry, clear its note and deselect its tags. To remove the app’s local data, use Delete App in iOS / iPadOS Settings; Offload App retains documents and data.

Device or cloud backups may include app data according to your Apple settings. Restoring a backup can restore earlier records. Manage backups separately. Exported files are separate copies: delete them from the chosen storage location and any synced or shared copies if you want them removed. The developer cannot remotely retrieve or erase records held only on your device, backups, or files you exported.

5. Children and voluntary support

Ellie Logic is a children’s learning app with grown-up involvement. There is no in-app chat, public posting, or automatic transmission of children’s practice or feedback to the developer. Support channels on this website are for parents and guardians.

If you voluntarily open a GitHub Issue, your GitHub username, report and attachments are visible to the developer and the public. We use what you choose to provide to answer questions, investigate problems and improve the app. Do not post a child’s name, photograph, school, medical or learning records, full feedback exports, passwords, or other private information. Reading this website needs no GitHub account; posting an Issue requires a GitHub account and is subject to GitHub’s rules.

Public support reports may remain as support history until removed and may be copied by others. You can edit or delete your own content where GitHub allows it. For a maintainer removal request, provide only the affected Issue URL without repeating sensitive information. For private handling of GitHub-held sensitive content, use GitHub Support or the privacy contacts in GitHub’s policy. We cannot remove third-party copies.
